Yesterday was honestly one of the hardest days I’ve had yet. Even though my annual physical in August, including the breast exam, was totally clear, I noticed a small lump—like a long green bean—right before Thanksgiving. The earliest appointment was miles away in January, but I called repeatedly until I snagged a cancellation for yesterday. I ended up getting an ultrasound, my very first mammogram, and then they immediately rolled me into a same-day biopsy. I’m now waiting until the end of next week for the pathology results. If you feel anything at all, push back and keep calling until you get seen. I’m spending the weekend snuggling my dog and watching terrible Christmas movies to stay sane.
